Jump to Action Directions: Get started by using the marker that comes in the kit. Simply write on the tag the name of your wonderful creation and maybe the "made" date, as seen on my wife's fermented Kimchi. Now the whole family knows which jar to use first!
Marker type: Use the kit marker (best option) or use any alcohol based permanent felt tip marker (fine or ultra point work e.g. Sharpie® or Bic®). Maybe step up your game and add a splash of color to your tags with colored permanent markers! ProTip...make sure you do not use "paint" markers (they can only be erased with mineral spirits) and the kids' water color markers don't work either they are not permanent and smear.
Dryness: Alcohol based permanent markers hate water of any kind, so keep the tag dry while writing or wiping clean for a winning experience. After writing, the ink should be smear-proof in a few seconds.
Attach: Slip the elastic cord around the container's neck and slide wooden bead into place. Simple, easy and effective for tagging your creations. |
Ready to Wipe Clean? Directions: After you're done using the tag, wipe it clean by simply applying a little alcohol onto a tissue then wiping off the ink on the tag. Simple! Store tags, marker, alcohol wipes, ProTips card and a few tissues in a small bag near the fridge or pantry.
Tissue: Use any soft facial tissue, paper towel or even a bit of toilet paper. Don't throw it out use it a couple of times then recycle. Cleaner: Rubbing Alcohol.....Yep, just your every day house-hold Isopropyl or ethyl alcohol works best. We supply a starter set of 70% Alcohol Prep Pads then you will need to supplement with a few soft tissues and a small bottle of rubbing alcohol. In Fact: Hand Sanitizers (alcohol based) & Alcohol Pre Pads & Wipes & Spirits, Ethyl alcohol e.g. Spirytus (192proof or 96% ethyl alcohol by volume) All these work great with a soft tissue. Please remember that 70% is the recommended minimum & takes a little bit more effort than 90% depending on the manufacturer of the alcohol based marker e.g. Sharpie®, Bic® or generic used. We like less effort... that's why we like our marker. ProTip: wipe slow to allow the ink to absorb into the tissue, fun to watch. Here at Zegghead we like good old fashion 90% rubbing alcohol from the grocery store. |
